Information Systems Analysts and Consultants will review and study current operations relating to software and systems, security, and general business issues. They will recommend changes and suggest contingency plans to management. They will implement approved changes and upgrades.
These individuals:
Develop, test, and implement information technology systems and solutions
Test, analyze and document technical issues and studies
Recommend additions and changes related to information systems in the areas of strategy, management, security, policy and service
These tasks can involve the areas of information systems, system security, quality assurance, and audits.
Titles can include:
Computer systems analyst or consultant
Informatics security analyst or consultant
Information systems business analyst or quality assurance analyst
Information technology consultant
Management information systems analyst or consultant
Systems auditor, security analyst or consultant
Primary responsibilities include:
Conduct studies
Business solutions
Effectiveness of current software and systems
Physical and technical security risks
Contingency plans
Confer with management
Propose, design, develop, test and implement information systems technology
Review quality assurance policies, applications and systems
Advise on strategy, policy, security, and management issues
Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, business administration or related subject from an accredited college or university or applicable specialty school
