Computer Engineers are responsible for a variety of tasks related to computer and telecommunications hardware systems including implementation of hardware and monitoring test results. Tasks may include supervisory responsibilities and interdisciplinary team projects.

Perform many tasks related to computer and telecommunications hardware and systems
Research, design, modify and evaluate
Work with mainframes, local and wide area networks, fiber optics, and communication systems.

Primary responsibilities include:
Coordinate user requirements and implement specifications for computer and telecommunications hardware including microprocessors, integrated circuit boards, and semiconductor lasers.
Test and analyze results
Oversee manufacturing, installation, and implementation
Research and evaluate networks and architecture
Optimize performance
May lead or coordinate others or teams including supervision
Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical or electronics engineering, engineering physics, computer science or related subject from an accredited college or university
Master’s or doctoral degree in related subject from an accredited college or university
Applicable licensure from a provincial or territorial association
